Thanks to all of you, the 2006 BBW Campaign was the winner of ePhilanthropy.com's Global People's Choice Award!

For the fifth year in a row, the African Well Fund is pleased to announce plans for a fundraising drive to " Build a Well for Bono's Birthday ".

From March 22nd through May 6th, the African Well Fund invites U2 fans and others who are inspired by Bono's tireless activism on behalf of Africa to make a donation in honor of Bono's birthday on May 10th. Your donation in the amount of $100, $75, $40, or whatever you can afford, will go a long way in helping to provide clean water for the people of Africa.

Donations from the four previous campaigns totaled over $80,000 and have been used by our partner Africare to fund well projects in Uganda, Ethiopia, Angola and Zimbabwe, and our current well projects are underway in Uganda, Sierra Leone and Rwanda. Check the AWF Wells page for more information on our projects. This past September, two African Well Fund members traveled to Africa to see wells built by previous birthday fundraisers. 	The African Well Fund will be the beneficiary of the second U2 Photo Auction through EBay entitled U2 Live : Photo Auction for BBW5 . From April 14 through April 22, U2 fans will have the opportunity to bid on U2 concert photos donated by some very talented U2 fans. The auction is currently underway, you can participate by visiting our ebay auction here.
	The African Well Fund offers a special t-shirt supporting our Bono Birthday Well campaign. The t-shirts featuring the selected design will be available for a limited time at our Cafe Press shop. Proceeds from the sales of these shirts will be added to the birthday fundraiser total.
	The African Well Fund will also receive royalties from the sale of The Little Red Book of Poe-ee-tree. The Little Red Book of Poe-ee-tree is a collection of poems and short stories written by a handful of U2 fans scattered across the globe. The royalties from the book ($4.37 from the pocket version and $4.89 from the hardback version) will be donated to the African Well Fund. You can order your copy today from Lulu.com.
