African Well Fund volunteer, Shauna Armstrong, wants to make a difference in this world. During her journey, she’s become a nurse and an advocate for several causes. Until recently, she didn’t realize how much of an impression her work has made on her children.

Shauna recalls, “My youngest is 4, and one night she requested a drink of water and I was busy...my 12 year old got a glass out of the cabinet and said ‘go in the back yard to the pond and scoop up a glass of water, its cleaner than the water in Africa!’ I think my mouth hit the floor. That is when I knew what an impact I was making on my kids.”

Her kids didn’t just give lip service to the cause, they jumped right in and held several fundraisers. They raised money by hosting lemonade stands and offering to walk their neighbors’ dogs for donations. Their hard worked paid off. They were proud to send in a contribution of $450 to the 3rd annual Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday campaign.
