What motivated you to get involved with AWF?

I believe in what they are doing (how could you not?) and like the people that established it. I had an online connection with a few of the founding members that I met through different forums. A service I could provide easily became a need to the AWF and it was natural to help.

What are the types of volunteer projects you’ve done with AWF and with other organizations?
I am doing the bookkeeping for the AWF and assist for events when I can. I try to help the church and my kid’s schools when I can. It could be manning a table, computer work, cooking for a soup kitchen or teaching Sunday school. I also did the bookkeeping for a Girl Scout troop and a garden club.

Would you recommend AWF to other people who are seeking out volunteer opportunities?

Yes, the people behind the AWF are why I’m here. They have their heart and soul in AWF, do everything 100%, are very professional and also welcome new suggestions and ideas. I’m proud of them!

What motivated you to get involved with AWF?

I have always had an interest in volunteer work. When I was asked to help with a fundraising event for the Well Fund, I got a chance to really see what it was all about. I was able to see how dedicated everyone is, and I knew I had found the organization for me. I knew I had found an organization that I was excited to give my time to.

What are the types of volunteer projects you’ve done with AWF and with other organizations?
I helped with last year’s Picture This fundraiser, the Alternative Gift Fair, and am currently working with Annette Quintero on the World Environment Day event, scheduled for June 4th. I have hosted tables for DATA on behalf of the Well Fund at several different events, and also volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Orange County.

Would you recommend AWF to other people who are seeking out volunteer opportunities?

Absolutely! I know that it can be challenging to find an organization that allows its volunteers to have a voice, to actually feel like they are a part of “the solution”. The Well fund does just that. Every volunteer brings something different to the table, and has something useful to offer the organization.

What motivated you to get involved with AWF?
I believe in what AWF stands for.  Clean water is a basic human right that everyone should have access to. This one planet and we are all of one race.

What are the types of volunteer projects you’ve done with AWF and with other organizations?

AWF- Right now I am working on the WED event.  I participated in the Picture This event and the Alternative Gift Fair.  I have also passed out fliers and hosted a table and plan on doing a few in the next month.

Other organizations- I am a long time volunteer of the Community Action Team in Long Beach.  I have also done charity walks for CHOC and AIDS Project Orange County.  I have also worked on a Kelp Reforestation project.

Would you recommend AWF to other people who are seeking out volunteer opportunities?

I would definitely recommend working with AWF.  AWF is extremely organized and highly dedicated in changing the lives of all of Africa’s citizens. It has been a great pleasure to be involved with AWF.  I have met so many wonderful people along the way!
