AIDS Day Virtual Candle Vigil
While the AWF’s mission is to provide access to clean water, we recognize the link between the need for healthy water and fighting the HIV virus. AIDS patients suffer from weakened immune systems, which makes them more at risk for contracting water-borne diseases and infections.
The African Well Fund would like to join the many and varied organizations throughout the world who are commemorating World AIDS day on Dec. 1st. The African Well Fund will conduct our third annual virtual candlelight vigil. Please light a virtual candle and leave a message in honor of the many people affected by AIDS.
World AIDS Day celebrates the progress made against the epidemic as well as focusing on the challenges that remain, and of course, honoring our fallen brothers and sisters.

Updates from Recent Fundraisers Coming Soon!
It's been a busy time for AWF. In recent weeks we have had three very successful fundraising events; the Interference Vegas Vertigo party, the Alternative Gift Fair in Fullerton, CA and our online virtual auction, Got Water?.
We are busy gathering information and tallying final totals. Check back soon for complete reports from each of these events.
One total we are able to announce is the total amount of funds raised since inception. As of November 11th this total stands at over $127,000! An amazing accomplishment achieved due to the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors. Thank you everyone!

Alternative Gift Fair in Fullerton, California - November 6th
The African Well Fund is pleased to announce we will be participating in Fullerton, CA’s “Alternative Gift Fair” for the second consecutive year. The fair takes place on Sun. Nov. 6th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Downtown Plaza, Wilshire Avenue between Harbor and Pomona Ave. The fair is sponsored by several area churches.
An Alternative Gift Fair is a positive holiday experience and a fun way to bypass the annual stress of holiday shopping and "stuff" accumulation while honoring friends and relatives with donations to causes that fit their values. AWF is thrilled to be joining other organizations such as Heifer International and Habitat for Humanity at this event. We will be offering “Well Shares” and “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” certificates for sale. All proceeds go directly to well-building programs in Africa.
