January 2011 Archives

The African Well Fund is currently accepting donations for a $30,000 clean water and sanitation project that will benefit 3,000 residents in the Mchniji District of Malawi. Any donations received will get AWF closer to achieving its 2011 goal of hitting the $1 million mark for total donations collected since the organization was founded in 2002.

The African Well Fund was founded eight years ago with the goal of raising $1,000 to fund the construction of a single well in Uganda. In our first year, AWF far exceeded that goal and raised over $26,000. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters, AWF has gone on to raise more than $882,000 to fund clean water and sanitation projects benefiting nearly 300,000 people in 13 African nations.

AWF has a new goal for 2011, to reach the $1 million mark for funds raised. Throughout the year, AWF will be sharing stories, announcing new projects and updating supporters as we get closer to reaching this goal.
